The Elite-1 base closes out the undertail hole left behind by the stock fender and it seals off your trunk from the outside．
The internal geometry of the base fits nicely around the stock undertail contours，and provides a channel for you to run a wire to your license plate light (if you are using one)．

LICENSE PLATE LIGHT INSTALLATION NOTES： On the 2006-2007 model the light wire does not go through the slot in the bracket．
It will go through the bracket in the center triangular cutout and then up into the base channel，then into the undertail．
For 2008 and later please install exactly as in the video．
