Front high-end brake drum in 10” for the GS150 and for converting the 8” models to 10”.
The SIP PERFORMANCE GS150 brake drums are a small revolution in wideframe and vintage Vespa brakes.
With the 10” drum it is not only possible to optimise the 8” brake，but also to improve or exceed the braking performance of the original 10” brake.

CNC machined from high-strength steel，SIP PERFORMANCE brake drums are 100％ rotationally symmetrical and particularly dimensionally stable even under pressure.
This means：no radial runout，no distortion or splaying during braking.
This means that the wheel brakes evenly，powerfully and with good control.
The surface is nitrided black.
This reliably protects against corrosion and environmental influences.
The drum is a real improvement over the original drums of the Vespa GS150 or those of the export models VGL.
Its large cooling fins ensure reliable heat dissipation.
Although this also means that the drum has some mass，it is lighter than the previously available repros made of grey cast iron，despite the all-steel design.
Like the original，the brake drum can be used on the front and rear axle.
Combining the SIP GS150 brake drums (23208700)，the SIP dust cover (23208750) and the larger brake shoes of the GS/Sprint/Rally models (87590100)，most 8 inch wideframes (VM to VB，VL) can be converted to 10 inch wheels and brakes with a little manual skill.
To do this，the dust cover must be attached to the swingarm with the rivets provided; the SIP riveting pliers (13104000) are very useful for this.
Drilling the 3 holes in the soft aluminium of the swingarm is easy with a cordless screwdriver.
The brake shoes may have to be slightly narrowed with a file/flex so that the Omegaclip (87390000) fits into the groove of the locating pin to secure it.
By the way，this combination was original on the export models of the Wideframes with 10” wheels：VIN prefix “VGL”.
However，the 8” rims no longer fit.
You have to change to 10” sheet metal or aluminium rims of the GS and VGL models (e.g.
VGL sheet metal rim 80181000，GS sheet metal rim 80185000，rim SIP tubeless for GS150 80181500).
So you also get the more stable handling of the 10” models.
If you own a front axle with M8 studs (SIP Art.
No.
22942000)，you can now also convert VS5 models (last series GS150 with 5-hole ring rim，“open”) to the look of the first 4 series GS150 with closed star rims and 4-hole mountings with the SIP Performance brake drum.

With dust protection plate Sprint (PV090710)，brake shoes Sprint (87590100) and our GS brake drum “Performance”，the braking performance of the top GS models and the export models can also be produced there，as well as the safer handling with 10” wheels.

Note：Make sure that the stud bolts of the brake drum mountings are not too short if spacers and alloy wheels are used.
Note the SIP brake drum mounts “Sport” (e.g.
89574100) and the available studs (47160200) in extra-long version.
