Clutch Gear Cog for PIAGGIO COSA 2 clutch for simple ratio changes on Vespa Largeframe.
Clutch Gear Cogs drive the auxiliary shaft of the Vespa Largeframe via the Primary Driven Gear and thus determine the overall gear ratio.
Replacing the Clutch Gear Cog is one of the easiest ways to change the transmission ratio:The larger the number of teeth,the longer the gear ratio.
Various numbers of teeth are available for PIAGGIO COSA 2,supplemented by custom-fit solutions from DRT for different Primary Driven Gears and special ratios.

COSA 2 number of teeth options:Z 20,Z 21,Z 22,Z 23

Changing the Clutch Gear Cog directly changes the characteristics:longer ratio for more smooth running and top speed,shorter ratio for better Connection and traction.
Z 20 to Z 23 are available for the COSA 2 Clutch Gear Cogs.
Without adapting the Primary Driven Gear,Z 20-22 fit in 125/150 setups,Z 21-23 in 200 setups.
Further gradations are possible by combining them with other Primary Driven Gears.
In 200cc Engines with 65cc primaries,Z 21/Z 22 can be used in addition to Z 23; the shortening to Z 22 is particularly popular because it noticeably helps the long 4th gear and improves the gear connection.
DRT closes the gradation gaps in the COSA 2 clutch gears and manufactures clutch gears to exactly match the respective Primary Driven Gears.
This ensures smoother running,higher load capacity and therefore greater durability and cleaner power transmission.
Straight-toothed Clutch Gear Cogs with Z 22 and Z 24 are designed for POLINI ratios; 24/64 results in a ratio of 2.67 and is one of the longest combinations for the COSA 2 clutch.
The DRT Z 23 is an ideal match for the original Z 67/68 Primary Driven Gears on 125/150cc Engines.
Straight-toothed COSA 2 Clutch Gear Cogs are also available for the DRT Primary Driven Gear Z 62; further gear ratios can be realized with Z 23,Z 24 and Z 25.
Note:Largeframe models from VNA/VBA up to 1994 can be retrofitted with the COSA 2 Clutch.
For 125/150 models,the Clutch Cover must be modified or a PX200 Clutch Cover with matching Pressure Plate must be used.
