A fixing bolt for the selector rod found in Vespa smallframe engines.
These items are necessary when overhauling smallframe engines，or as replacements due to wear or damage.
Sadly they are no longer produced by PIAGGIO，so we leapt into the breach and took care of providing high quality reproduction bolts.

Vespa smallframe gearboxes have a central component，usually known as a selector spider，located within the output shaft.
Each of the four gears，along with the neutral position，are held in position by two spring-loaded ball bearings in the slots located within the selector spider.
The mechanism is operated，or the gears are changed，by turning the twist-grip located on the left of the steering assembly.
The twist-grip is connected to the engine using control cables (in later models control wires) that control the movement of the ratchet block and selector rod and fork that moves the selector spider with two sliders.
The spider is positioned through the opening on the lower part of the engine and fastened from the top using the thread found on the selector rod.
If this is damaged or worn it causes mechanical play in the gear selection mechanism.
The SIP selector rods are an ideal replacement for maintenance work or when overhauling the engine.
The most important components of the gear selection mechanism are the selector arm and rod.

The gears are selected and held by the selector spider，which is ideally replaced every single time the crankcases are opened.
To ensure the selector arm and rod cause no mechanical play，make sure you also have a selection of suitable thrust washers available to complete the job.
