Steering Columns for Vespa Smallframe：Variants，differences and tips
Steering Columns on older models are often warped，rusted or sprained.
Four standard Steering Columns are generally used on Vespa Smallframe Models：
Vespa 50-125 / PV / ET3
Steering Column of the early Smallframe Models with 10” tires and slot for the Steering Lock.
PK50 / S / SS / XL (I)
Mix steering column of the Italian PK50 Models：with Suspension Arm of the Vespa 50-125 / PV / ET3，but with lock and mudguard mount of the PK50-125 S/SS/XL/Automatica Steering Column.
PK50-125 S / XL / Automatica
This Steering Column does not have a continuous thread and has a groove on the shaft for the handlebar bolt.
The Handlebar is attached to the side - as on the Vespa 50-125 / PV / ET3.
Although it fits into a Vespa 50-125 / PV / ET3 frame，the longer lower part would raise the front of the vehicle significantly.
A modification is therefore necessary.
A special，modified conversion Steering Column is available for Disc Brake conversions.
PK50-125 XL2 / FL / HP / Automatica
Differs from the PK50-125 S/XL/Automatica Steering Column mainly in the steerer tube：longer thread throughout，no groove for handlebar mounting.
The Handlebar is clamped from above.
Can also be used as a V50 conversion Steering Column if necessary，but the entire upper shaft must be modified for this.
The Steering Columns from RMS，CIF and SIP come from a small Italian machine manufacturer that works with original molds.
The quality is very good，but the availability often fluctuates - therefore，if in Bearing，go for it.
Standard Steering Columns are available with or without the Suspension Arm already pressed in.
They are supplied without Steering Head Bearing Set and without lower Dust Cover Shell.
Fitting note：The Mudguard should be checked for accuracy of fit before painting.
For Steering Columns without a Suspension Arm，be sure to order the matching swing arm bearing set.
All Steering Columns are supplied without Steering Head Bearing Set，Bearing Shells or Dust Cover.
