The SIP castle nut tool/spanner is specially designed to un/fasten the securing-ring nuts located on the drive shafts found in the motors of vintage Vespa models.
PIAGGIO made these items with two separate designs and inner diameters and we have had them reproduced，with a couple of improvements included.
Instead of the original four-hole layout the all-new SIP versions possess eight recesses，for improved grip and transmission torque.
The tool was also designed to be fully compatible with both four and eight holed nuts，with four pegs on the one side and eight on the other.
The middle part of the tool accepts a 1/2” socket.
This tool can only be used on the drive shaft once it has been removed from the motor.
Conclusion：Extremely practical tool when fully-servicing the motors on the older models of Vespa and a useful helper in the toolboxes of all Vespisti！
SIP-TIP：If，following the many services over the years，the recesses in the existing shaft-nuts are worn or damaged，they require immediate replacement.
