SIP TIP:The quickest method for pulling in the Wire Kit:Feed a wire or old Bowden cable through the horn opening towards the Tank.
Secure the Wiring Loom with some Adhesive Tape or Cable Tie and pull it through the Frame.
The same applies to the routes to the Steering Head and the rear light opening.

This Wiring Loom is the perfect solution for retrofitting a GS160 without indicators with side hood indicators or replacing the porous original Wire Kit.

The Wiring Loom is the nervous system of the Vespa and ensures that the power arrives exactly where it belongs.
The wires on a 30-year-old barn find are often brittle,the contacts loose and the wire colors no longer recognizable.
However,a defective Wiring Loom not only disrupts the electrical system,but also has a negative impact on engine running.
Finding and fixing the fault “somewhere” in the Wiring Loom is almost impossible - the Wiring Loom must be completely replaced.
As most original Piaggio Wiring Looms are either no longer available or are only available in ECO quality,SIP has reissued many of these Wiring Looms in the highest premium quality and has them handmade in Germany.
Colors and cable lengths correspond to the original,so that in the vast majority of cases they can be installed without any further modification.
The original Vespa 160 GS / GS4 was also supplied with a separate Wiring harness for the blinker supply.
Piaggio never built a complete Wiring Loom including Indicators.
The only deviation from the original is the Wire from the Indicator Relay to the Indicator Switch.
This is supplied in white-pink and not in white,as the color white is only used for ground in the actual GS4 Wiring Loom.
SIP has manufactured a new combined Wiring Loom that already contains the blinker function(SIP part no.:93736300).
The Indicator Relay is supplied via the red Wire.
In the original,this is twisted and soldered together with the red wire on the Brake Light Switch.
This has the advantage that the blinker function can be switched off via the Ignition Lock.
The Wire is positioned in such a way that the positive output on the Rectifier could alternatively be used to supply the Indicator Relay with power.
In this case,an eyelet is included which would have to be crimped onto the red Wire.
However,this procedure is not recommended,as in this case the indicator function would not be deactivated even when the Ignition Lock is in the “Off” position.
Conclusion:The perfect solution for faithful restorations!
