Indispensable for every high-quality cylinder overhaul:cylinder base and head gaskets in exact thickness!
Details make the difference between a good and a very good running two-stroke Engine.
Timing and squish gap have one of the greatest influences on this.
The right gaskets between the Gasket Cylinder Base and Crankcase or between the Cylinder and Cylinder Head make it possible to adjust both parameters precisely.

also available for long stroke and long Conrod We have a whole range of head and base gaskets to ensure that the cylinders can always be installed at exactly the right height regardless of the tolerances of the Casing,Crankshaft,Piston,etc.
The desired dimension can always be combined from the various available thicknesses.
The crush gap (QS) should be the reference value for all modern Cylinders.
The correct dimension for the squeeze gap can be found in the cylinder manufacturer’s Mounting Instruction and should be kept to +/- 0.1 mm.
For example,a Cylinder for which 1.5 mm QS is specified,but which only measures 1.25 mm squeeze on the outside of the squeeze surface after installation,needs an additional 0.2 mm Gasket to ensure that it is within the tolerance range of 1.5 +/- 0.1,i.e.
1.4 to 1.6 mm...
Our basic gasket for the classic GS150 Cylinder is made of gasket paper,all other material thicknesses that are thicker than the original dimension are made of aluminum.
All aluminum gaskets are made in Germany and very cleanly deburred.
Gasket sandwiches,e.g.
paper-aluminum-paper,can be formed,but the aluminum gaskets can also be installed with high-temperature Sealing Compound (92115000).
If the sealing surface is very narrow,paper gaskets can easily be pushed away laterally by the pressure.
Sealing Compound is then the better choice.
The longer the Conrod,the smoother the engine generally runs;the length of the connecting rod should be approximately twice the stroke.
In contrast,the GS150,of all engines,has a very short Conrod of only 105 mm,because in the post-war period people believed in high pre-compression.
Even the use of a normal wideframe Crankshaft with a 110mm Conrod gives noticeably smoother running,long-stroke shafts with 60mm stroke are only available with at least a 110mm Conrod.
With 60/115,our race shaft 45184500 offers dream dimensions,so to speak,for a perfectly smooth-running,high-performance wideframe engine...
The extra stroke and Conrod length can be compensated for by head and foot gaskets.
We offer you both a 5 mm Spacer and a 10 mm foot gasket so that you can combine all available Crankshafts and stroke and connecting rod lengths.
In general,it can be said that head gaskets favor torque and pulling power because the timing remains short.
Base gaskets lengthen the exhaust and overflow timing and therefore usually provide measurable extra power.
